•  Wildlife Tours >> National Parks >> Abercrombie River National Park

The Abercrombie River National Park conserves the only remaining and the largest intact patch of low, open forest located in the south west central tablelands area. There are three chief waterways in the park where casuarinas stand alongside the deep waterholes. There are many activities in the park which include fishing for trout, camping on the Abercrombie River’s banks, canoeing, swimming etc. Silent Creak, Retreat River and Abercrombie River are significant habitats for eastern water rats and platypuses.

In the areas of high altitude in the eastern parts of the park one can come across peppermint i.e. E. dives and mountain gums i.e. Eucalyptus dalrympleana.
