Mountain relief's, canyons and deep valleys, rough rivers and waterfalls which contribute to make up a unique landscape of great beauty and of a diversity of ecosystems that go down from rainy and cloudy woods of the Yungas as far as the dry woods of the mesothermic valleys.
The protected area of Amboro that divides its area of 637,600 hectares between the Natural zone of Integrated Management, where 97 communities are settled and it works as a cushion zone of the park. And the Amboro Park itself that spreads over 442,500 hectares, where there are no human settlings and the extraction of natural resources is banned.
This protected area has a great number of varieties of animal and plant species:
· Plants: approximately 3,500 kinds, besides a great variety of orchid species.
· Animals: approximately 1,235 vertebrate species among which 818 are birds; 127 mammal species of which 43 are bats; 109 species of fish and 105 reptiles.
In the northern zone, with an entrance from Buena Vista the waterfalls of Mataracu are pointed out, which are over 25 meters drop fall.
La Chonta, with an out looker to watch birds and swimming ponds, the waterfall at Villa Amboro is over 35 meters drop fall; besides the beaches on Surutu river banks.
In the southern zone with an entrance from Samaipata of unique relief are the Volcano mountain ranges, the waterfall of the Garden of Delights 75 meters in area. The Yungas of Mairana, with the huge ferns. And the Siberia, a wood clouded with an exceptional vegetation..
