This national park consists of warm temperate and subtropical rainforests. The rainforests comprise coachwood, booyong and crabapple trees. The forest forms a significant habitat for numerous upland rainforest amphibians like stuttering frog, giant barred frog and pouched frog. One can also go for walking in the park on the Box Ridge walking track which guides one through a pleasing corner of the park. Accessibility 18 km north of Dorrigo on the Cascade Road.
