Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary is located about 120kms to the south-western side of Chandrapur. The sanctuary covers an area of around 104.38square.kilometers, of which the major part is covered by wood land or by grass lands. The two rivers i.e. river Parlkota and river Pamalgautam carve their way through the sanctuary. There are various cliffs, caves, tallus and nala beds that offer a place of shelter for various animals. The time between the months of February-May is the ideal period for visiting the place.

Wildlife at Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary
The vegetation cover of the sanctuary mainly comprises of moist deciduous mixed forests. One can also find evergreen vegetation around the river beds or nala beds. Some of the common trees found her are arjun, bija, kuda, bel, kusum, mango, bamboo, kadam, ain and many more. The species of grasses includes gawat, kusal, chir, mussam, khus etc.

The sanctuary is a home to various wild animals like leopard, wild boar, sloth bear, hare, barking deer, mongoose, flying squirrel, blue bulls, jungle fowl, peacock etc. Some of the animals found here belong to the endangered species of animals.
