The sanctuary is quite near to the Gorumara national park and thus one can easily visit both. The sanctuary covers an area of about 96square.kilometers. The sanctuary abounds in natural vegetation and comprises of various species of plants and trees that are hard to find somewhere else. Fauna- The chief attraction of the sanctuary is the Elephants that are found here in large numbers. The place is a home to various other animals like Gaur, Wild boar, Leopards, Royal Bengal Tiger, Himalayan Langoor, deer, reptiles etc. Avifauna- The sanctuary is a paradise for bird watchers. Here one can view various types of birds like Peafowl, Green pigeon, Roller, Florican, Flinch, Bee-eater, Hornbill, Black partridges and many more.
