About Nayagaon Mayur Sanctuary!
Nayagaon Mayur Sanctuary spreads over various villages located at Patoda Taluka, in the district of Beed, Maharashtra. The place is a hilly forested area that comes under the Marathwade region. The sanctuary covers an area of about 29.90sq.kms. The height of the sanctuary varies from place to place and thus the vegetation also differs accordingly. The best time for visiting the place is between the months of June-October.

Flora & Fauna
The place abounds in natural vegetation cover and mainly consists of shrub forests, grasslands and even plantation blocks. Some of the common species of plants found here includes Jamun, Tendu, Chinch, Sitafal, Sandalwood, Neem and many more. There are various types of shrubs like Bor, Lantana, Lokhandi, Karwand etc.

The sanctuary is a home to various species of animals like Fox, Black Buck Porcupine, Hare, Wolf, Palm Civet, Palm Civet, Jungle Cat etc. One can also see various types of birds around that include both residential as well as the migratory birds. The chief attraction of the place is the Pea Fowls that can be seen here in large numbers.

One can find a comfortable lodging at Aurangabad or Beed, which are not far from the sanctuary.
