Date of Establishment- 1988. Area Covered- 1501hectares. Location- The sanctuary is situated around 47kms from the city of Rajkot, Gujarat. About Rampara Wildlife Sanctuary! Rampara Wildlife Sanctuary was established in the year 1988 so as to protect the natural vegetation and the wildlife of the area. The sanctuary is about 47kms from Rajkot and covers around 1501hectares area of land. The place is quite woody and hilly, which makes it an adventurous place. The sanctuary is located near the river of Machchhu, which is drained by two streams i.e. Pat a gala vanklo and Vaghrigalo vonklo. The sanctuary also has a watch tower, which offers a better view of the entire sanctuary. Wildlife in Rampara Wildlife Sanctuary! In this sanctuary, one can see varied types of vegetation cover that varies according to the height of the land. There are around 280 different species of plants & trees that can be seen here. The sanctuary is a home to around 20 species of mammals like fox, nilgai, wolf, chinkara and many more. The place also shelters about 20 species of reptiles like cobra, lizards etc. One can also see around 130 different species of birds that includes both domestic as well as the migratory birds. Accessibility Road- The closest bus station is at Wankaner, which is at a distance of 15kms from the sanctuary. Rail- The closest railway station is at Sidhpur, 7km from the sanctuary.
